Her life began on Aug. 30, 1937, in Athens, Ga. Her precious memories will be forever treasured by her children, Tommy (Sheila) Banks, Sherry (Theophilus) Coutain, Alesa (Charles) Dawson, Tina Banks-Gray and special son Dennis Flowers; her sister, Gloria (Paul) Coney; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas N. Banks. Roy Andrews officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died March 18. Mr. Binns was a native of Wilkes County and the son of the late Ed and Rebecca Binns of Washington. He was a member of the Rocky Mount Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board for 66 years. He was superintendent of the Sunday School for 40 years.
