Oglethorpe, Wilkes, Clarke, Fulton, Texas SAN ANGELO Dorothy Jean Banks entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011. Her life began on Aug. 30, 1937, in Athens, Ga. Her precious memories will be forever treasured by her children, Tommy (Sheila) Banks, Sherry (Theophilus) Coutain, Alesa (Charles) Dawson, Tina Banks-Gray and special son Dennis Flowers; her sister, Gloria (Paul) Coney; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas N. Banks. A home-going celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Antioch First Missionary Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas, 301 W. 23rd St. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Dorothy was a homemaker, a loyal community volunteer, loving mother/wife and a dedicated member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served as deaconess and prayer warrior. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, Adams & Starks Funeral Home, 122. W. 14th St.
